Last Friday, close to 40,000 medical students matched into a speciality at a residency in the United States. This is the day that medical students worked hard for in anticipation of where they will truly begin their clinical training. 4 years of medical school leads up to this special moment. This episode we celebrate that process with recently matched medical student, Darnell Gordon. He will be matching to Ohio States Emergency Medicine Residency Program. We discuss

-his feelings regarding the match and how he felt knowing he matched on Match Monday

-advice for those going into the upcoming match and tips on how to conquer interview season.

-encouragement for those who didn't not match

-what green and red flags he watched out for as he selected which residency to match

-why capping is a thing in this process. don't believe everything you hear from anyone whether that be program director or resident in your program of interest

-why support is important and his greatest motivating force

and more.....

Big shoutout to Giulia, an osteopathic medical student atWestern University of Health Science, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific Northwest for appearing on the episode. Unfortunately the recording did not record her part but we appreciate you!
